If I were to be cold, I could just say something like "nice guided meditation, soothing voice, great value, 5 stars." But this isnt just some app in a pile of thunderstorm noise apps and white noise machines. This isnt even an app that brings features of other apps together in one convenient place. This is not even some therapist, or hypnotist, or some lady that sits behind the glass during your sleep study. Its your mother, softly singing a gentle lullaby as she tickles your back and shifts the weight of the world on to her shoulders with a soothing, "everything is just fine, you have no care in the world." Except its the voice of a man—a voice that is perfectly balanced in tone and delivery, never once saying a word that takes your focus away from the one and only thing that matters. Restful, carefree sleep.
Ive used pzizz for years, well before there was even an iPhone. I owe it my college degree, my sanity, and a couple years of my life, no doubt. I know thats dramatic, but whoevers soothing voice plays over the ambient background music has been talking me into effortless sleep every night for the past 10 years.
They dont even offer the original OSX application anymore, but Ive managed to keep the old file around and install it on every new computer. But here it is, in all its original glory...for free, of all things. What youre getting here used to be $99, and I would gladly pay that price again. But you dont have to, because some crazy people who bought the original company a few years ago are just giving it away.
You would be a fool to try anything else. I must admit I did that too, my tech-hungry brain assuming that something even better, however unfathomable, must have come along since I first discovered this. Nope. Its simply not possible. This is it. I have no feature requests, no bug reports to send, no cant-wait-for-version-2.0 dreams. Just a smile, one thats lasted until the end of the day because of my restful, sublimely relaxing sleep.
